Custard Halwa with Milk | How to make Custard Halwa | Medley-Of-Flavours

Custard Halwa with Milk



Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup custard powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Chopped Dry fruits of your choice
Preparation:
  • In a pan heat a cup of milk with sugar.
  • Keep stirring till the sugar dissolves.
  • Grease a plate with ghee or butter.
  • In a bowl, take remaining milk and add custard powder in it.
  • Mix them well. Make sure there are no lumps.
  • Add the custard mixture to the milk gradually.
  • Keep stirring while adding the Custard mixture.
  • Keep stirring. It starts to thicken.
  • When the mixture is thick and changes colour , it is ready to be poured into the plate.
  • Spread the halwa on the plate equally.
  • Top it with some chopped dry fruits of your choice.
  • Let it set And cool down.
  • Place it in the refrigerator for an hour.
  • Slice the Halwa and serve.
Preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins

Jackfruit Halwa | How to make Jackfruit Halwa | Medley-Of-Flavours





Ingredients:
  • 1 cup jackfruit
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp rice flour
  • 1/3 cup jaggery powder
  • Dry fruits of your choice

Preparation:
  • Chop jackfruit into small pieces.
  • Add cornflour and rice flour to the milk and mix them well.
Cooking:
  • In a pan, heat ghee.
  • Add chopped jackfruit and sauté.
  • Jackfruit softens after a while.
  • Add the milk mixture to the jackfruit.
  • Keep stirring continuously. The mixture thickens after a while.
  • Add jaggery. Mix everything well.
  • Add your choice of chopped dry fruits.
  • Jackfruit Halwa is ready to be served.

Carrot halwa recipe | Gajar ka halwa | How to make carrot halwa

Carrot halwa is a panjabi sweet dish. Made out of carrots, milk, sugar. In this recipe I am using both condensed milk and sugar. You can add khoya as well. This recipe does not include khoya. Wondering how to make a a rich creamy carrot halwa with out khoya. Check out the recipe below. 

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 Kg carrot
  2. 400 ml Milk
  3. 200 ml condensed milk/ milkmaid
  4. 6 tbsp Sugar
  5. Dry fruits
  6. 2 tsp ghee
  7. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Preparation:

  • Wash the carrots with water. Peel off the skin of carrots.
  • Using a grater grate carrots.

How to make Carrot halwa:

  • Dry roast dry fruits of your choice.
  • Let it cool down and chop them into pieces.
  • In a thick bottom pan start heating milk.
  • Once milk start boiling add grated carrot into it.
  • Mix and cook carrot till the milk reduces.
  • It might take around 40-45 minutes. 
  • Now add condensed milk and sugar mix everything well.
  • Let sugar melt and then add ghee and dry fruits mix everything well.
Preparation time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 50- 60 mins
Servings: 3

Notes:
  1. Condensed milk can be completely replaced with sugar.
  2. Cook the halwa on low to medium flame.
  3. This recipe can also be cooked in pressure cooker.
  4. This can be stored in fridge for about 6 to 7 days in refregirator.

Wheat Flour Halwa | Aate ka Halwa | Kada Prashad | Medley-Of-Flavours

Wheat flour halwa is a rich, soft and velvety textured halwa.  Also known as Kada Prashad. 

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. In a kadai mix ghee and wheat flour together.
  2. Heat the mixture till bubbles are formed and the mixture changes to brown colour.
  3. Boil water and sugar.
  4. Add sugar syrup into the wheat flour mixture.
  5. Stir continuously.
  6. Keep stirring until the mixture releases ghee and leaves the kadai.
  7. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  8. Garnish it with some almond flakes.

Cooking time: 15 mins

Sooji Ka Halwa / Rava Halwa | How to make Sooji Halwa

Sooji ka halwa also called a Sheera is one of the most easiest and quickest dessert  recipes of India. Usually served as holy offering on auspicious occasions.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Sooji (Rawa)
  • 1 n 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 3 tbsp ghee / butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 n 1/2 cup water
  • 4-5 almonds
  • 4-5 cashew nuts 
  • 1 tbsp dry grapes

Method:

  • Mix milk and water.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast almonds cashews and grapes keep it aside. 
  • In same pan add the remaining ghee and add 1 cup of sooji to it. roast the sooji till it turns golden brown colour.
  • Add milk and water mixture into the pan. Boil till the water dries out completely
  • Add sugar and stir well.
  • Add cardamom powder and dry fruits and mix well.
  • And the dish is ready to serve.
