Toor dal which is also known as pigeon peas goes very well with rice or even roti.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup Toor dal
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Jeera
- Few garlic cloves
- Curry leaves
- Pinch of Hing
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- Salt
- Water
- 9 Green chilies
- Few Black pepper corns
Preparation:
- Pressure cook toor dal in a cooker with water till 2 whistles.
- Let the pressure release completely. Add turmeric and salt to taste and keep aside.
- In a kadhai heat some oil. Add mustard seeds into it and let them splutter.
- Now, add jeera,garlic cloves, hing, pepper corns, curry leaves, split green chilies and saute for a minute or so.
- Mix cooked toor dal into this. Add water to adust the consistency.
- Cook till bubbles are formed on top of dal.
- Garnish it with some coriander leaves.
- Toor dal is ready to be served.
