Palak dal is a healthy dal recipe. High in Iron contents and a lots of nutrients also low in calories.
Ingredients:
- 250 gms Spinach
- 1/4 cup Toor dal
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Jeera
- Curry leaves
- Pinch of Hing
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- Salt
- Water
- 7 Green chilies
- Fried onions for garnish
Preparation:
- Chop spinach and green chilies.
- Pressure cook toor dal in a cooker with water till 2 whistles.
- Let the pressure release completely. Add turmeric and salt to taste and keep aside.
- In a kadhai heat some oil. Add mustard seeds into it and let them splutter.
- Now, add jeera, hing, curry leaves, finely chopped green chilies and chopped spinach saute for a minute or so.
- Mix cooked toor dal into this. Add water to adust the consistency.
- Cook till bubbles are formed on top of dal.
- Garnish it with some coriander leaves and fried onions.
- Palak dal is ready to be served.
