Pan cakes are fat cakes, often thin and round, prepared from a starch-based batter and cooked on a hot surface like a frying pan.
Ingredients:
- 3 small bananas
- 1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2 tbsp Powdered sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Butter
- Honey/ Maple syrup for garnish
Preparation:
- Peel the bananas and chop them into pieces.
- Mash the banana pieces, add sugar.
- Mix the mashed bananas and sugar together. Till everything mixes together.
- Add all purpose flour.
- Mix everything together.
- Add milk gradually and keep mixing.
- Add baking soda and pinch of salt.
- Mix everything together.
- Add some more milk if the batter is too thick.
Cooking:
- Heat a pan, spread some butter on it.
- Pour the pan cake batter on the pan.
- Wait till you see few bubbles on the pan cake.
- Turn the pancake and let it cook for a while.
- Once it is done. Take it in a plate and repeat the process.
- Stake all the pan cakes and garnish it with butter and honey,
- You can also serve it with some maple syrup instead of honey.
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time : 15 mins
Serving: makes 12-14 pan cakes depending on the size
