Tomato Onion curry is a tangy curry usually served with chapati/roti, puri and even tasty good when served with white rice.
Ingredients:
- 2 Tomatoes
- 2 Onions
- 1/4 cup roasted chana dal
- 3 tbsp grated coconut
- 1 tbsp Tamarind
- 1 tbsp Jaggery
- 5-6 Red chilies
- Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- Pinch of Hing
- Curry leaves
- Salt
- 2 cups Water
- Coriander leaves
How to make tomato onion curry:
- Chop tomatoes and onions into large pieces. Keep them aside.
- In a mixer jar take roasted chana dal,coconut, red chilies, tamarind, jaggery grind them into paste by adding some water.
- In a kadhai, heat some oil add mustard seeds to it and let them splutter.
- Now, add hing, curry leaves and chopped tomatoes & onions.
- Saute them well.
- Add grinded mixture into the kadhai.
- Add water to adjust consistency of the curry.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
- Mix everything well. Cook it till the curry is completely boiled.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves
